Last night our church had it's annual Hanging of the Green ceremony, and for those of you who have never heard ot it, it is when the church families decorate the sanctuary with the greenery and all the other decorations. I had never heard of this till I joined South Main. But it really is a beautiful ceremony. The children carry the crismons for the Crismon Tree and the Nativity figures for the Nativity display in front of the altar. It's a real hustle and bustle time so there isn't a lot of time for taking pictures. But I did get Gena Price to slip down to the front pew and get a couple of pics of the children while they sang Jingle Bells and Away in a Manger. Afterwards we have what is called a tea tasting which involves absolutely no tea whatsoever, but...there sure is lots of food, and I mean every kind of fingerfood you can imagine. The different sunday school classes all bring goodies to supply their table. And let me tell you, everyone outdid theirselves.
The only bad thing about last night was that Avery started around 2 am with the stomach virus. Bless her heart she has vomited and the other end all night. She is asleep now and has been for several hours, but she didn't get any sleep last night. She was a real trooper, never shed a tear just took it like a big girl. Don't know where it came from, maybe one of the kids last night was carrying it, who knows, I know it has been making the rounds.
